Discovering Real Health Chiropractic: An Interview with Dr. ShaRhae

Discovering Real Health Chiropractic: An Interview with Dr. ShaRhae

At the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Dr. ShaRhae, the owner of Real Health Chiropractic. Dr. ShaRhae’s journey from pre-med studies to establishing a thriving chiropractic practice is a testament to her passion and dedication. In this interview, she shared insights into her unique approach to chiropractic care, her focus on pediatric and prenatal patients, and her vision for the future of her clinic.

From Pre-Med to Chiropractic Passion

Dr. ShaRhae’s path to opening Real Health Chiropractic was anything but conventional. “I was pre-med in college and shadowed a pediatrician, but it was a horrible experience,” she recalls. “Nobody wanted to be there, and the kids were screaming. It was nothing like the Norman Rockwell version I had imagined.” This disheartening experience led her to reassess her career path. Her mother suggested chiropractic care, a field she had always enjoyed. “I’ve been going to the chiropractor since I was a kid, so it just sort of opened my eyes to choosing that as a profession,” Dr. ShaRhae explains.

Her journey took another turn when she was pregnant and looking to settle down. With few job opportunities available, she decided to open her own clinic. “It ended up being a huge blessing because it allowed me to raise my kids with flexibility,” she notes.

Specializing in Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractic Care

Dr. ShaRhae’s love for children and her experience in the field naturally led her to focus on pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care. “I’ve always loved being around children. I’ve been a babysitter, taught Sunday school, and just find working with kids really rewarding,” she shares. Her practice has evolved over the years to include a broader family focus, but pediatrics remains a specialty.

Pediatric chiropractic care offers numerous benefits, according to Dr. ShaRhae. “It helps regulate the nervous system, which is crucial for optimal development. We address issues from nursing difficulties and torticollis in babies to ear infections, ADHD, and sports injuries,” she says.

For pregnant women, chiropractic care provides significant relief and benefits. “Pregnancy places a lot of stress on the body. Chiropractic care helps balance the pelvis and reduce stress, benefiting both the mother and the baby,” Dr. ShaRhae explains. This can lead to less stress and colic in newborns, creating a more harmonious start to life.

Techniques and Approaches in Chiropractic Care

Dr. ShaRhae is certified in the Webster Technique and has been practicing perinatal chiropractic care for over two decades. “I have a lot of different techniques and approaches, and I’m constantly continuing my education,” she says. This extensive experience allows her to offer specialized care for both prenatal and pediatric patients.

She emphasizes the importance of experience and specialized training for expecting mothers considering chiropractic care. “Look for someone with specialized training and experience. If you see a lot of pregnant women and young children in an office, that’s a good sign they specialize in those areas,” she advises.

Addressing Misconceptions and Advancements in Chiropractic Care

One common misconception about chiropractic care is that it’s only for back pain and neck pain. “While it’s excellent for those issues, chiropractic care extends far beyond that. It’s about maximizing your body’s healing capacity and overall health,” Dr. ShaRhae clarifies.

She also stays current with advancements through seminars, research, and continuous learning. “I’m a lifelong learner. I stay updated with new research and advancements to provide the best care for my patients,” she says.

Looking to the Future

Dr. ShaRhae has ambitious goals for Real Health Chiropractic. “We’re looking to add collaborative care providers, like adding physical therapy and acupuncture,” she reveals. The clinic also hosts community events, like their upcoming sensory-friendly event where children with special needs can have a calm, enjoyable visit with Santa Claus.

In the next 5 to 10 years, Dr. ShaRhae envisions chiropractic care playing a more prominent role in primary healthcare. “Chiropractors can offer a holistic approach to managing overall health and provide an alternative to medication,” she notes.

The Rewards of Working with Pediatric and Prenatal Patients

What Dr. ShaRhae finds most rewarding about her work is the positive impact she has on her young patients. “I love interacting with my patients, especially when a baby who’s been in pain starts to relax and smile. It’s incredibly fulfilling,” she shares.

Real Health Chiropractic is not just a practice; it’s a place where Dr. ShaRhae combines her expertise with a genuine passion for helping families and children.
