Welcome Back Izzy!

Welcome Back Izzy!

This Summer's Returning Intern.

Hello! My name is Izzy Nelson, and I am thrilled to be returning for my second year as an intern at the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce. My journey with the Chamber began during my time at Eden Prairie High School, where I first engaged with the Chamber as a student member. This initial experience sparked my interest in the Chamber’s operations, leading me to actively participate in various events and pursue a micro-internship during the school year.

During my micro-internship, I had the opportunity to lead Grow MN Visits, an initiative where the Chamber connects with local businesses to understand their needs and offer support. This role allowed me to enhance my communication skills and deepen my knowledge of the Eden Prairie community. Following this enriching experience, I continued with a full internship over the summer, where I played a key role in organizing the community-wide event, the Eatin’ Prairie Burger Battle. Collaborating with our sponsor, First Western Bank & Trust, we successfully executed a month-long event that allowed for local restaurants to be highlighted.

After graduating from high school, I pursued my studies at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!), majoring in international business, supply chain management, and Spanish. My first year at university was incredibly rewarding, as I became involved with my sorority’s executive board, served as a student ambassador giving tours to potential Jayhawks, and even traveled to Slovenia for a ten-day study abroad program with the Business Leadership Program.

I am ecstatic to return this summer to continue my work on the Burger Battle and Grow MN Visits. The Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce has provided me with invaluable experiences, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the community I proudly call home.
